Enter your monthly numbers. We'll show your abandonment rate vs the industry average, the revenue you're leaving on the table, and what each recovery strategy would realistically pull back.

Don't have visitor data handy? Most Shopify and Woo dashboards show monthly sessions in their analytics tab. AOV is total revenue ÷ orders.

Recovery-rate ranges are typical industry figures from publicly published vendor data and Baymard Institute research. Your actual rates depend on traffic mix, product type, identification rate, and message timing.

Frequently asked

How is cart abandonment rate calculated?

Cart abandonment rate = 1 − (completed orders ÷ carts started). The Baymard Institute documents an average of around 70% across thousands of ecommerce stores, with most healthy stores landing between 60% and 80%. Anything above 75% suggests there's meaningful recoverable revenue if you don't currently run cart-recovery flows.

Why does this calculator use visitors instead of carts started?

Most merchants know their monthly visitors but don't track how many added to cart without buying. We approximate cart-starts at ~25% of visitors, which is the publicly reported industry average across Shopify and WooCommerce. If you have actual cart-start data, divide that by 4 to back-calculate visitors equivalent for accurate comparison.

Are these recovery rates realistic?

They're industry-typical ranges, not guarantees. Email-only sequences recover 3–7% of abandoned cart revenue at most stores. Multi-channel (email + popups + retargeting) typically recovers 8–15%. Adding AI chat and WhatsApp on top — like RecartIQ — pushes the typical range to 15–22% because each channel catches a different cohort of abandoners. Your actual rate depends on your AOV, traffic mix, identification rate, and message timing.

What's the fastest way to start recovering this revenue?

An exit-intent popup with a small discount is the single highest-leverage rule you can ship in 5 minutes. After that, layer email follow-up at 90 minutes, then AI chat or WhatsApp for engaged shoppers who left. RecartIQ ships all four in a single tool for $19/mo — see the pricing page or start a 7-day free trial.
